A Border Adjustment Tax was considered in the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017, which would have made it impossible for low-dollar retailers to stock their stores with the products they were receiving from China, where products are made at a much lower price point.
We met with several members of Congress to make sure they understood the real-world impact this provision could have on their constituents.
The Results
The Border Adjustment Tax was not included in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
